The Chaos of Stars, by Kiersten White

Review of The Chaos of Stars by Kiersten White: Remember when you were a teenager and your parents were SO EMBARRASSING? Apparently they are even MORE embarrassing if they are Egyptian gods.

Title: The Chaos of Stars
Author: Kiersten White
Genre: YA

Remember when you were a teenager and your parents were SO EMBARRASSING? Apparently they are even MORE embarrassing if they are Egyptian gods.

Isadora is the daughter of Isis and Osiris, and she's pretty sick of everyone thinking they are SO GREAT with all the prayers and shit. Also, they have not granted her immortality, and that sucks.

Isadora goes "Fuck this divine shit," and flies to San Diego to visit her brother. Unfortunately, someone bad has followed her stateside, and she's having nighmares about the destruction of her parents.

With the help of some new friends, Isadora needs to figure out what's going on before it becomes a threat - even to her immortal mother.

I REALLY REALLY love mythology, so I was really excited about this book. It was pretty good, but I wanted it to be better.

On the other hand, it's kind of worth buying just for the cover. SO PRETTY!

VERDICT:

2/5 Brass Knuckles

Full disclosure: I got this book from the library because free books.

    1. It wasn't bad. If you're really into mythology, it's worth a read. It just didn't live up to the cool concept.
